Baby socks are much more practical than booties because they stay on without requring a tie around the ankle.

Less than 1 ounce/ 25 grams of wool
Size 12/ 2.75mm/ US 2 needles
You can also use a small ball of a main colour and then use odd colours for random
stripes. Baby doesn't mind at all!

Cast on 24 stitches
Rib 12 rows
Leg:
Stocking stitch 24 rows
Stocking stitch is knit one row, purl one row. It is sometimes called
stockinette. You can adjust the length of the leg here.
Short row heel - first half:
Knit 7, turn; Purl back
Knit 6, turn; Purl back
Knit 5, turn; Purl back
Knit 4, turn; Purl back
Knit 3, turn; Purl back
Knit 4, turn; Purl back
Knit 5, turn; Purl back
Knit 6, turn; Purl back
Knit 7 then continue across row to the end.
Short row heel - second half:
Purl 7, turn; Knit back
Purl 6, turn; Knit back
Purl 5, turn; Knit back
Purl 4, turn; Knit back
Purl 3, turn; Knit back
